About The Course
The BSc Nursing Studies is a post-registration degree for registered nurses. On successful completion of this course, which is offered annually, you will be awarded a National University of Ireland Bachelor of Science (BSc) Nursing Studies degree.
The course is aimed at building on the foundations provided by pre-registration programmes and professional experience. It should appeal to students from a number of clinical areas and from management positions. It will provide an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge applicable to current practice in general and specialist areas.
You can choose to complete the BSc Nursing Studies programme over one academic year (60 credits) or over two academic years (30 credits per year). If you have completed flexi-option modules (at level 8 or above), you may also be eligible for exemption from some modules. Application for exemptions must be made at the time of application.
Highlights of the Course
In Year 1 students take three core modules which include; Practice Enhancement (10 credits), Research Methods (10 credits) and a Personal & Professional Portfolio (10 credits). Students can choose a further 30 credits from a range of modules subject to availability e.g. Person Centred Care, Nursing & Midwifery Management & Development, Patient Safety and more.
